DESCRIPTION:Interested in promoting conservation\, preservation\, restoration\, and environmental awareness in Macon County? Join us for an informational meeting for a better understanding of the Community Environmental Council and it’s role in the community. We will discuss our current projects\, such as the Friends of Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park and SONA\, and ask for suggestions for new ones! \n\n\n\nJen Walling\, executive director of the Illinois Environmental Council\, will present on environmental legislation that has passed the Illinois General Assembly and will be considered in the future.  She will focus on the Clean Energy Jobs Act as well as legislation to protect drinking water quality and conservation lands.  Jen will offer tips on how to become involved and make your voice heard! \nOpen to interested citizens who want to make a difference. \nDownload a flyer here.
